Lost Between

I don't know where I am
Between India and England
The child who was and woman to come
I can't remember my own passion
How I grasped at life to ride through the veins
Of a life that sidestepped ill fortune never
But somehow always saw the good fortune
Just over the next hilltop
Rising in a golden glimmer
And smiling the sweet smile of eternity
But something happened
I still see eternity
Golden bright smiling
But it is the harsh golden smile of an idol
And crusted over with worshipers
Tears and sweat and blood offerings
